Riccardo was born in 1980 in Mantova, but grew up in Ostia (just outside Rome). Before settling down in Rome with his wife Gaia and his daughters Cristina and Matilde, he has also lived for some time in Naples and London.
He received his degree (BA level) in Scienze Internazionali e Diplomatiche (International and Diplomatic Sciences) at the University of Naples “L’Orientale” and has also studied Development Cooperation at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London.
During this time, he has studied double bass at the Saint Louis Music School in Rome, and he has improved further his instrumental and improvisation techniques by taking part in various seminars held by Kenny Werner, Mark Turner, John Patitucci, Ben Allison, Maurizio Gianmarco, Paolino Dalla Porta, Piero Leveratto and Furio Di Castri. He has been active for more than 15 years in the Rome area as bass and double bass player. He has played with Rosario Giuliani, Flavio Boltro, Antonio Faraò, Ettore Fioravanti, Francesco Diodati, Salvatore Bonafede, Andy Gravish, Kalman Olah, Marco Tamburini, Max Ionata, Daniele Tittarelli, Claudio Filippini and many more. He is currently involved in several unique musical projects with musicians such as Ludovica Manzo, Costanza Alegiani, Marcello Allulli, Paolo Innarella, Simone Alessandrini, Alberto Giraldi e Milena Angelè.
He has also studied graphic design at the IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) in Rome and since then he has started cooperating as art director with renowned marketing agencies based in Rome that provide their services to large corporate clients such as SDA, Poste Italiane, Regione Abruzzo, Trenitalia, Wind, Presidenza del Consiglio and Amnesty International. At the moment he is mainly involved in editorial graphic design and illustrations and he cooperates with Pepe Nymi, a Milan-based communication agency that serves important clients like Rizzoli, RCS, Corriere della Sera and Mediaset.
